CPTAF is not your average PT clinic. We are WV’s leaders in returning athletes back to sport using the best sports PT equipment, application of clinical research, and top trained clinicians in WV. We believe in preventative healthcare and promoting an active pain tolerable lifestyle! We are fiercely dedicated to getting better every day and loving people.

Matt Taylor★★★★★

PT, DPT, CLT, CSCS

Matt is a born and raised West Virginian from Wellsburg, WV, and graduated with a doctorate in physical therapy from Wheeling University and undergraduate degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Matt has 12 years of clinical experience in the acute care, home health, long term acute care, travel PT, and most in outpatient PT. His clinical certifications and specialties include: certified LSVT provider (gold standard for treating Parkinson’s Disease), vestibular rehab, certified lymphedema therapist (CLT), certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), USA Olympic Weight Lifting certified and a special interest in ACL reconstruction and isokinetics. He enjoys the outdoors and is an avid hunter and exerciser. He has a beautiful wife (Ellen) with 2 dogs (Thor and Poppy) and resides in Kanawha City, WV. Matt’s career is his passion and includes helping as many people in life find and follow God through knowing Jesus with use of his talents in physical therapy and exercise.

Ryan Gellner ★★★★★

Biomechanist

Ryan was born and raised in Marshall county, West Virginia. After studying mechanical engineering at West Virginia University, he pursued a masters and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Tech. His graduate work focused on concussions, preventing injury through research and policy, and making sense of human data from advanced wearable technology. Ryan has worked in the crash safety department at General Motors for the past six years, specializing in occupant safety and the use of human body models to predict injury. He is an avid runner, hockey player, baseball player, hiker, and sports fan. He has three children, a dog, and a loving wife who encourages him to pursue his passions. Ryan’s dream is a world without unnecessary death or injury, which he strives toward as a means of bringing God’s Kingdom to earth during his time here.

Matt is from Charleston, WV. He is a Certified Personal Trainer who has worked in the Kanawha Valley for 5 years. His areas of interest are corrective exercise, mobility, strength, and endurance. Matt also studied Communications at West Virginia State University. In his free time he enjoys reading, weight lifting, watching sports, spending time with his family, his girlfriend, Stephanie, and their animals.
